Ne BOUETA MBONGO, also known by his real name Malonga Mi-Mpanzu, is revered as one of the Kongo ancestors. He was an influential political leader, chief of land and merchant.

His central role in resisting the French penetration of Kongo dia Mfua or French Congo from 1896 to 1899 is undeniable. On 11 November 1898, he fell in combat, his body beheaded and thrown into the waters of the Lufulakari (Lufua lua nkandi).
